Appropriate Shoes

The following are examples of shoes that will work well in conjunction with your Rothbart Proprioceptive Insoles.

Every year, shoe manufacturers change their line of shoes.  The exact shoes illustrated below may not be available.  However, look for shoes with the same construction characteristics:

  1. Made of leather
  2. Have a wide toe box
  3. Have a thick, hard bottom - heel, middle and toes
  4. Have a flat bottom surface (no Rocker Bottom type heel or toe)
  5. Have a straight bottom surface (when you look at the bottom of the shoe, it should not be curved like a kidney bean)
  6. Make sure that the insoles that come with the shoes are easily removable (i.e.,not securely glued into place) and that the surface underneath the insoles is totally flat and hard.
