If your beliefs encompass this first model, you’re probably receiving pain management therapy(s) and consequently, you’re still in pain.

The second model states that the body is fully capable of healing itself if the obstacles are removed.

This is the model that I adhere to. If your beliefs also encompass this second model, what I’m about to say will be of great interest.

I know the following self-evident statements to be true:


  • The body has the capacity to heal itself far better than any doctor can do using drugs or surgery.
  • In almost all cases involving skeletal and visceral (organ) pain symptoms, the use of drug and/or surgical interventions prevents the body from healing itself.
  • The body will automatically heal itself if the obstacles preventing it from doing so are removed



The Obstacles That Keep You In Chronic Pain

Obstacle # 1 – Your Doctor

Doctors keep their knowledge current by reading medical journals. These journals state over and over that there’s no known unifying cause for ‘chronic pain syndrome’ hence the only acceptable treatment is by individually addressing your multitude of symptoms through drugs and surgery.

Because of what they’ve studied and the invasive treatments they practice, most traditional doctors don’t believe that your body can heal itself without their direct and often invasive intervention.

Their interventions are an exercise in futility.

Another exercise in futility is trying to change your doctor’s modus operandi. To illustrate my point; I’ll tell you one of my past experiences:

As a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management: I spent many years lecturing at their annual meeting, emphatically stating that we, as medical professionals, are charged with eliminating chronic pain, not just managing it.

I got nowhere. The mindset of pain management was so deeply entrenched in traditional medicine that my message was ignored.

Twenty-five years later; little – if anything – has changed.

So what it comes down to is this: If you want to get rid of your chronic pain and you’re following your doctor’s advice, chances are good that you’re going to be living in pain for the rest of your life.


Obstacle # 2 – Your Feet
