But sometimes, for specific reasons, the body does not have what it needs and so can not repair itself. It is at these times, that something must be done to help the body along.
Let’s look at how this applies in the area of chronic muscle and joint pain: Millions of people worldwide are spending billions of dollars trying to find out why they have chronic knee, hip, back and neck pain; and why – no matter what therapy they try – nothing permanently cures their problem.
This is a timely example of a health problem in which the body doesn’t have the means to repair itself on its’ own. Yet, I have seen time and time again – without exception – that when a chronic pain patient is given the right tools, their body heals itself.
Knowing The Cause Leads To The Solution
You must first identify the true cause. Only then can you give the body what it needs to restore itself to wellness. The key is to do as little as possible (only what’s necessary) because when given what it needs, the body does a darn good job of fixing itself.
For most people suffering with chronic muscle and joint pain, the source of their problem is a genetic deformity in their feet – an inherited, abnormal foot structure in which their foot bones did not complete their rotational development in the womb. As a result, their feet twist. This foot twist creates havoc in their entire body.
Looking closer: All feet have touch receptors on the bottom, which send signals to the brain (cerebellum). The brain responds to these signals by automatically adjusting the posture. If you have ‘normal’ feet, correct signals are sent to your brain and it responds by creating an upright posture. But if you have an abnormal foot structure (Rothbarts Foot or PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity) your feet send distorted signals to your brain. Your brain responds by automatically adjusting your posture into a distorted position. In this distorted position, your joints are misaligned and your muscles do not function well. Over time, chronic pain develops.
So what we have here is a body that’s out of sync and can not fix itself. The source of your problem is a genetic foot abnormality, which creates havoc throughout your body.
Because your body is so smart and automatically fixes things that are out of sinc, why can’t it fix its own feet? Here’s the answer:
We are talking about a genetic bone deformity. When the structure of your foot first started developing in the womb, it was a malleable cartilaginous tissue, but gradually this flexible cartilage becomes bone. And at that point it’s unchangeable – like soft, malleable clay that eventually dries and becomes hard as rock.
Due to the way your foot was formed (deformed) in the womb; when you stand or walk, your feet will twist. And there’s nothing that your body or mind can do to stop this from happening. Your body simply can not untwist, or reshape, its’ bones.
In other words – They form the way they form, and you’re stuck with the results when yours don’t form correctly.
Applying Your Body’s Wisdom – True Healthcare To Heal From of Chronic Pain
So how do we correct this foot structure that’s keeping your body out of sink and in chronic pain? It can’t be done through PT, chiropractic or orthopedics. It’s true that these therapies can adjust joints and muscles, but they can’t change the genetic deformity in your feet. So because the abnormal foot structure is still present, within a short time, the joints and muscles return to their previous (misaligned) positions. It can’t be done through drugs, as drugs don’t correct this abnormal foot structure. It can’t be done through surgery, as surgery (to this date) can not correct this genetic foot deformity.
So what does your body need in order to correct its’ foot deformity and restore itself to health?
The answer is that your brain needs to receive correct signals from your feet, so that it can automatically adjust your posture into its’ optimal position. Since your abnormal feet can not send correct signals, we need to help them along. This is where Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy comes in.
Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy does not correct or reform the abnormal foot structure (as this is not yet possible). But it does the next best thing – it normalizes the signals coming from your feet so that when your brain receives these corrected signals, it automatically adjusts your posture into a more upright position.
When this occurs, your joints are now properly aligned and your muscles are now in their most optimal position. It is at this point that your body can finally heal itself.
And that, my friends, is true healthcare.
In my opinion, true healthcare is listening to our body’s innate wisdom on how to care of itself and fix its’ own problems when the need arises.
Sometimes the body already has everything that it needs in order to correct a specific problem. For example, if you cut your finger, your body goes through a process to plug up the hole.
